Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from it. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador. she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne was always grateful that she was able to share her passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
