Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. She has performed on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing piano and singing in the church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
